We had our cedar roof replaced by Gillespie Roofing a few years ago. They did a spectacular job and were so responsive to all of our needs and addressed any issue that arose. Recently, we had a few problems with our roof windows and, again, they addressed this problem promptly and stuck with it until it was completely resolved. We highly recommend them for all your roofing (or other) needs.

Our luck with contractors over the years hasn’t been the best. We got a new roof on our house 13 years ago just for it to leak within months. The company who did the roof went out of business, so we were pretty much up the creek. After some more bad experiences during the years, my faith in hiring a quality contractor to redo our roof was low. The thought caused anxiety and dread.

However, Gillespie Contracting LLC has renewed my faith in finding a company who is proud of its work and has quality men, both in their trade and just as decent human beings. Not only did they do an amazing job on our new roof, they came out at midnight on a holiday weekend to deal with a snag that rain caused mid-job. They literally ran up our alley to help my neighbor when her dad fell and she needed help lifting him out of the floor. They went above and beyond. I recently had my roof replaced by Gillespie Contracting. Matt and his team were very prompt, efficient, and did a great job overall. Within 1 day, they finished the entire roof and left the area around our home spotless, as if they were never there. Communication was a breeze, they were quick to respond, and they worked around our schedule. I would highly recommend them.

I highly recommend Gillespie Contracting. I knew after my first meeting with Matt that Gillespie was the one I wanted to use for my deck post repairs, and I was right. Matt kept me up to date on permit progress, timing of the repairs, etc., and it was a pleasure dealing with him. He and Mark are both very knowledgeable and they determined a way to replace the bottom of the posts and add concrete footers without having to replace the whole posts. Mark was exceptional at working with the township on the permit, and when I heard him discussing the job with the inspector, it was clear how much he knew, and thanks to his knowledge/expertise, he was able to perform the right amount of work to keep my deck safe, while not having to overdo it and have me pay more than necessary. The work was done well, and I am all around very pleased. Like I said, I highly recommend Gillespie Contracting!

We have been working with Caleb and his team for 4.5 years. They have provided great support for our slate roof, sections of which are 70+ years old. Their annual maintenance (and replacements in targeted areas) have extended the life of the roof and kept us safe and dry! And they are great people to work with. We highly recommend them!

Outstanding work from beginning to end on a complicated roof and gutter replacement on an old, historic house. They were patient, listened to our vision for the project, and were knowledgeable during the planning phase. During all construction and installation phases, they were true craftsmen, including roofing, gutters, copper flashing, and cedar repairs. Unexpected issues were dealt with in a straightforward fashion and explained clearly. The subcontractors (carpentry, painting) were also fabulous. As a major component of my commitment to the house, I take special care to select equally knowledgeable and interested people to help me care for the special needs of an old house. Hiring Gillespie Contracting to replace my slate and copper roof was one of the best decisions I have ever made in this costly adventure of home ownership.

Shall we begin the gushing review with Caleb? He served as project manager, and he made me feel like I was his one and only client (the truth is far from that!). He responded to all the detailed question I could throw at him quickly and with great advice and opinions. He sent me his very best team and they were astonishingly safe and smart, and they worked together like a very competent and well-oiled machine. They were considerate of the yard and kept their workspace contained and tidy. They loved my big dog and helped to keep him safe during the project, always watching out for him when moving trucks around and always closing the gate when leaving.

These guys have mastered the lost art of working with materials that require special treatment. They were true artisans. The end result is a stunning masterpiece that has elevated my home to new heights. I was reluctant to pull the trigger as this is quite an expensive endeavor, but now that the work is done, I can honestly say it is the best money I have spent. And no leaks! I put away all the buckets we needed before, as my new roof is of course not only really pretty, it is waterproof and I won’t have to think about it for another 100 years.

Just had Gillespie do a new asphalt roof on our 100+ year old home that required the tearing off of 2 layers of asphalt and 1 cedar shingle. They also did some cedar shingle siding and new gutters! We saved some money and the job is great. Highly recommended.

We are thrilled with the new slate roof that Gillespie Contracting installed. Caleb was a pleasure to work with from start to finish. We had a difficult installation because we had a slate roof on top of a cedar shake roof that needed to be removed. We used ½ to ¾” slate installed using the Slate Tech process. In addition we installed copper gutters and downspouts. The quality of the copper work was just outstanding. The attention to detail was incredible in every way. Throughout the process the team was always sure to clean up the entire worksite every night. They were happy to address any concerns that we had and we would recommend Caleb Arnwine and his team for anyone thinking about installing a new slate roof. We have had many questionable experiences with roofing contractors over the years but have nothing but great things to say about Gillespie Contracting.
